STUNNING HYPERCARS AND SUPERCARS TO BE AUCTIONED AT THE RIYADH CAR SHOW ON FRIDAY

As the anticipation of one of the largest auctions for Hypercars and Supercars gathers pace, Silverstone Auctions are finalising their extraordinary catalogue of some of the most incredible high-performance cars produced.

Taking a look at a selection of the cars being offered, one of the most recent cars produced is the stunning 2019 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, one of 99 cars produced and with 570km from new on the clock. But like all of these, cars no one is the same and this comes with the most incredible list of options to the tune of $173,961 including the Villa d’Este package. Stunningly presented in a special-order Topaz Chrome 2 with a Sahara Tan interior and detailing picked out in gold with Burl Ash veneers. This is quite a car to behold with a 6.0-litre V12 which also comes with a set of Bridge Of Weir leather fitted luggage to match the interior.

Giorgetto Giugiaro is a legendary designer who founded Italdesign in 1968 and worked with some of the major car manufacturers for the last 50 years. In 2017 they launched their first bespoke supercar, the Zerouno, limited to just five cars combining race car features for the road. Each car was built to order and this car was the last of the five to be made, as specified by a collector with an extensive private collection. This car has never been registered for the road and has only delivery and testing mileage. This is a very unique car finished in Matte Black with green, white and red stripes running the length of the car signifying its Italian origins.

Our next car is one of several Bugatti Veyrons in the auction and this is one of the most special versions built. This 2010 Veyron is the Nocturne, one of five made to celebrate 100 years of Bugatti and one that was specially developed for the Middle East market. With just 1,500km on the clock, the Nocturne is identified by the galvanised side windows that continue the polished aluminium line at the front and finishes with the wide rear wheel arches. The main differences to a standard Veyron are purely down to cosmetics, from the specially polished wheel rims to the dark magnesium dash and galvanised Platinum centre console. A stunning looking car in left-hand drive and registered in the UAE.

The final car in this release is a collaboration between Mclaren and Mercedes at a time when they were F1 partners. The Mclaren Mercedes SLR 722S Roadster was their creation, bringing together their technical knowledge to produce an awesome road car built at Mclaren’s Woking facility. Only 150 of these cars were made and very few in the white with a semi-aniline black leather interior. This 722S was delivered new to the UAE and has just 2,000km on the clock and is a very special car.

CLASSIC CAR AUCTION DISRUPTOR, THE MARKET, ACHIEVES RECORD SALES FIGURE IN OCTOBER

Classic car auction disruptor, The Market, has achieved industry-leading results once again with a sales rate of 80 per cent during the month of October, whilst also achieving its highest ever total sales of £486,485.

“October has been a fantastic month at The Market with a record-breaking total sales figure approaching half a million pounds,” comments Tristan Judge, director, The Market.

“We also had a wonderfully varied selection of no reserve cars last month, which demonstrates not only the quality of lots for auction but also the confidence of our customers in our online platform and app. Like the original, online-only classic car auction house, our results show that we are continuing to out-performing many traditional auction houses.”

Highlights of the October auctions include a restored, right-hand drive 1964 Jaguar E-Type S1 3.8 FHC finished in Dark Blue with matching leather interior, which had spent the majority of its life in the warm Cypriot climate. Offered at no reserve, the E-Type sold after more than forty bids for £61,513.

Another E-Type, also offered at no reserve, was a right-hand drive 1972 Jaguar E-Type SIII V12 FHC  in Ascot Fawn with a red leather interior in wonderfully original condition. Also benefitting from dryer weather conditions having spent 42 years in Arizona, it sold for £38,900.

From another famous British marque, a 2013 Land Rover Defender 110 TD Utility Wagon, used by the British Red Cross and complete with full-length Patriot roof-mounted storage rack, cage storage, tow-bar, ladder and a host of other practical features, sold for £23,400.

“We believe that auctions deliver the correct, current value for a classic car, especially when accompanied by accurate estimates. We’re continuing to see consistent, high sales rates month by month as well as increasing demand from customers to sell with us,” concludes Tristan.

Other October results include a low ownership, US market 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 MK3 which sold for £28,745, a 1994 Porsche 968 Sport, the second-to-last car to roll off the Clubsport/Sport production line, which sold for £15,637, and an exquisitely maintained 1993 Jaguar XJS Convertible 4.0 Auto which sold for £12,000.

Silverstone Auctions sale at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show on the 9th and 10th November is set to be a real scorcher as some of the hottest cars in the most exceptional condition from the Blue Oval are to be auctioned.

The term Fast Fords always conjure up great excitement and Silverstone Auctions will not disappoint you in November as they have some real head-turners from the 1970s and 80s to get you all fired up and here are just a few of the examples on offer.

Leading the charge is a 1972 RS1600 Custom Mk1 in a glorious light blue estimated at £58,000 to £68,000. Built at Ford’s AVO factory with the BDA engine, this 1972 car is in the most exceptional condition and recorded on the RS1600 Register. As one of just 1,137 cars built, the vendor knows his Fords and is a collector of rare and immaculate cars from the marque. Having had just four owners from new, one of whom was marque specialist ASM Restorations it comes with loads of paperwork and its original buff logbook. This has been meticulously restored retaining its original shell and is presented in show condition. These are very collectable cars.

The next Fast Ford is one of two RS2000 Customs from 1980. Sporting the droop snoot look this award-winning car is no stranger to show having been awarded a number of accolades from the RSOC including 1st place at their Lakes Tour in 2017. The vendor of this car is a big Ford enthusiast and has owned some of the best examples. This matching numbers 1980 RS2000 Custom has had the most exacting restoration and retains the original bodyshell. Presented in Venetian Red with Fishnet Recaro seats and lots of history this stunningly presented car is estimated at £38,000 to £44,000.

Our second RS2000 is finished in Cordoba Beige and has covered just 1,500 miles since 1992 and has a total of 34,000 miles on the clock. Coming from long term storage and three previous owners this RS2000 Custom comes with up to ten older MOT certificates back to 1992, plus an original brochure and handbook. With the distinctive droop snoot looks, the desirable Fishnet Recaro seats, this time warp car is estimated at £35,000 to £45,000 and are well sought-after cars.

Our final car in this release comes from a very well-known and documented collection, the BonkeRS Collection. It was started by a man whose desire was to collect only the best RS models ever produced. This 1983 Ford Escort RS1600i is quite possibly one of the best and certainly, one of the best Silverstone Auctions has seen. It is one of just 560 UK cars in Sunburst Red which was in storage from 2004 to 2010 and has only done 700 miles in the last 16 years. Estimated at £30,000 to £40,000 it comes with boxes of paperwork and will be fully serviced, road-tested and come with a new MOT prior to the sale

THE MARKET CONTINUES TO DISRUPT THE CLASSIC CAR AUCTION INDUSTRY WITH SEPTEMBER SALES RESULTS

Classic car auction disruptor, The Market, achieved an industry-leading sales rate of 86 per cent during September with total sales of over £327,900, as well as a new UK record auction price for a 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider S2 2000 Veloce.

Described as possibly the best example in the country, the original right-hand-drive 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider S2 had been stripped back to bare metal and rebuilt to ‘better than new’ condition, with a blend of patinated original features and fresh parts. The Spider sold for £29,000 on the online auction platform, more than £12,000 above its lower estimate, securing a new UK record auction price for the model.

“September has been another fantastic month for The Market, with all but four of 29 cars selling on our online-only auction platform,” comments Tristan Judge, director, The Market. “The Alfa Romeo Spider S2 is a wonderful representation of the last month’s results, selling well over estimate and achieving a new UK record price.”

Also achieving a spectacular result, a 1967 Volvo 130 Amazon with £50,000 spent on a full professional conversion to full Road Rally/Regularity specification reached a final sale price of £38,000, more than double its pre-auction estimate. Sold as ‘on the button’ and ‘ready to go’, the Volvo Amazon had been prepared for competing at events such as Le Jog, Peking-to-Paris or Classic Malts.

Meanwhile, a restored 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi proved the pulling power of The Market’s bidding platform by selling well above its lower auction estimate for £57,000, returning over £54,000 to the vendor. As a model which had failed to sell at other recent auction events, the final bid for this particular 308 GTSi was a significant £13,000 over the lower pre-auction estimate.

“These results prove that we attract high-quality vehicles and that when placing them before our buyers we are generating very successful auctions for both buyers and sellers. We’ve seen some genuine bargains sold on the platform this month, making for very happy buyers, but also very happy sellers, who receive 95 per cent of sale price, with many having struggled to sell their classics elsewhere by more traditional methods,” concludes Tristan.

Classic Car Auctions are offering a truly unique 2011 B

MW 1M with delivery mileage at their forthcoming sale this weekend at the Warwickshire Event Centre.

Bought from BMW Park Lane we understand from the vendor that this car was used to launch the model in the UK at the Park Lane Showroom.

This must be a one-off opportunity to acquire BMWs pocket rocket with just 90 miles on the clock and one of the 450 cars made.

Gary Dunne, Classic Car Auctions auction manager commented: “This is quite a remarkable car. Owned by one family, they bought the car and then stored it in an underground facility which has kept the car away from the elements for the last eight years.”

The car will when it comes to the sale, will have an MOT until September 2020 and have had a full BMW service. Estimated at £60,000 to £70,000 this must be the best on the market.

Whilst we are on rare cars, how about a 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider? This manual right-hand drive car is one of 75 which were destined for the UK. With 18,700 miles from new, this car is from the last year of production and is superbly presented in Giallo Modena, yellow in case you were unsure. Estimated at £50,000 to £55,000 this low mileage Ferrari is a real head-turner.

Our next two lots are very rare indeed, with both scoring extremely high on the condition report. The earliest lot is the 1970 Ford Capri MK1 2000 V4 GT XLR which at the time was the top of the range model costing an additional £1,310. The first of the two owners had the car up to 2016 when it changed hands to the current owner. It underwent a full bare-metal nut and bolt restoration to the highest of standards and finished in the correct colour scheme with the optional black bonnet. Estimated at £25,000 to £30,000 and with just 12,730 miles on the clock, this is one outstanding Ford Capri.

Four years later came the Ford Capri MK1 RS3100 again in exceptional condition after a full restoration and estimated at £50,000 to £60,000. With 48,000 miles on the clock, boxes of paperwork and with probably just 50 of these cars left, this is one potential show-stopping Concours winning car.

FUN, FUNKY, FRUGAL CLASSICS BEING OFFERED AT CLASSIC CAR AUCTIONS ON THE 5TH OCTOBER

Classic Car Auctions have among their lots at the forthcoming auction on the 5th October a selection of what could be described as fun and funky yet frugal classics.

One of the stand out cars is from the 1970s, a 1972 Fiat 500 Gamine by Vignale. Scoring extremely highly on the condition report, this small two-seater is based on the Fiat 500 was produced by Carozzeria Vignale. Now fully restored by a London specialist and presented in bright red with beige interior, with the mileage is indicated at 27,637 miles. Estimated at £22,000 to £26,000 this is a much sought after and trendy UK right-hand drive car.

In 1988 Wolfgang Hoffman took the Citroen 2CV and developed a series of kits which are still available today. The designs varied from a pickup to a limousine. What we have here being offered in the sale is a 1984 Citroen 2CV Hoffman Cabrio which could be one of two left in the UK and possibly only 1,700 in the world. The kit came in the form of a glass-reinforced plastic body with steel fame side windows and a convertible soft-top and boot lid. The vendor of this car has used it has her daily driver over the last three years and has just had it serviced ready for the next owner. Estimated at £8,000 to £10,000 this is an unusual take on the classic 2CV.

The Roaring Twenties was the era of large scale adoption of cars and the General Motors group introduced the Pontiac brand in 1926 offering a cheaper range of six-cylinder cars. This 1928 6-28 2-door Sedan has the 25hp, 3050cc straight-six with an L Head and was to become the most popular in the range. Finished in Forest Green with a fabric roof and 12 spoke wooden wheels this is a fascinating car at an estimated £8,000 to £10,000.

Now moving on to the 1930s we have what is believed to be called a Speedy, a 1934 Austin 7 Special which had been exported to New Zealand and has undergone complete restoration prior to arriving back in the UK. The interior has been re-trimmed and the body has been re-painted red. Estimated at £10,000 to £12,000 this little open-top tourer will be UK registered in time for the sale.

Our second Austin is the 1936 10 Tourer which was restored 15 to 20 years ago and features a fully functioning Dickie seat and a good soft-top. Estimated at £7,000 to £9,000 this is a great pre-war open-top tourer and an inexpensive way into classic car ownership.

The third of our Austins takes us to the 1970s and this 1974 Austin Mini Clubman is a real find with just 12,000 indicated miles. With just two registered owners and in almost completely original condition having been stored for most of its life, this little gem is being offered at an estimated £7,500 to £9,500. The interior remains as new and the bodywork and mechanicals have been refreshed and now ready for its next owner.

Classic car auction disruptor, The Market, will auction a trio of exemplary 1970s supercars on its online-only bidding portal this week, where buyers pay only what they bid and sellers receive 95 per cent of the sale price.

The three supercars, a Ferrari 308 GTSi, De Tomaso Pantera L and Jensen Interceptor Mk III, offer classic car enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to buy a magnificent example of an iconic car of the 1970s style and substance era, from the comfort and convenience of their own home.

“All three of these fantastic supercars are achingly beautiful and brutish to drive!” comments Tristan Judge, director at The Market. “Each car has been exceptionally well maintained, either by their owners or marque experts, and each offers both collectability and driveability. With three to choose from, buyers are really spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing their poison!”

The 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi for sale was purchased by its current owner in 2013 as his ‘forever car’, which marked the start of a comprehensive restoration with renowned specialists, Italia Autosport, to turn a ‘good car’ into a ‘great car’. Having been driven just 400 miles since its completion to near concours standard and reading just 59,400 miles, the now fully fettled 308 GTSi has an estimated value of £44,000 - £50,000, with bidding already underway and ending on 25th September at 8:00pm GMT.

The second supercar is a 1974 De Tomaso Pantera L in highly original condition and finished in a striking orange, reminiscent of the era. Purchased by the current owner from a church which it was donated to, the Pantera has been treated to new suspension, rustproofing, carburettor rebuild and new engine coolant. Estimated at £65,000 - £75,000 with an odometer reading of just 34,000 miles, the online auction of this cult classic will start on 25th September and end on 2nd October at 8:00pm GMT, a timely purchase in the marque’s 60th anniversary year.

The British supercar of the trio, the 1973 Jensen Interceptor Mk III, is in fabulous condition, just a hair’s-breadth from concours condition. With a 7.2 litre Golden Commando V8 engine and a TorqueFlite automatic gearbox, it is as brutal as it is handsome with lashings of leather, wood and chrome. In the care of the same owner for the past four and a half years, the Interceptor has been treated to vast expenditure at marque experts Cropredy Bridge, where sensible upgrades to the brake system and air conditioning have been installed to allow the vendor to use the car regularly. Reading just 46,259 miles and estimated at £37,000 - £44,000, the online auction for the Interceptor starts on 23rd September and ends on 30th September at 8:00pm GMT.

CLASSIC CAR AUCTIONS OCTOBER SALE TRIUMPHS AND OOZES QUALITY

The CCA October sale is set to be one of the highest quality sales with £1.7 million worth of cars consigned and takes place at the Warwickshire Event Centre on the 5th October.

Three superb Triumphs feature in the sale as well as beautifully restored 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII, a 1970 Rover P5B 3.5 Coupe and a rare 1976 manual Jaguar XJC 4.2 from a museum collection.

The first of the three Triumphs is a fabulous looking 1958 TR3A in a glorious Signal Red and has been with the current owner for the last 43 years and formed part of his private collection. What’s more, it has had just two owners and retains its original registration number 492 EVK. Staggeringly the car has done only 13,000 miles since 1976 and after an extensive 30-month restoration the TR3A went on to win its first Concours in 1979. The project was documented in Practical Classics Magazine in 1980 and a copy is supplied with the car along with other documentation. Estimated at £28,000 to £32,000 this is an outstanding car in amazing condition and available for the first time in 43 years.

Our second Triumph is a 1968 TR250 which is the US-specification of the TR5 which are now becoming a difficult car to acquire and with prices on the increase. This TR250 is a superb car and a great option when purchasing one of these British classics. Converted to right-hand drive as part of a painstaking chassis up rebuild, this TR250 has had a huge amount of work carried out from engine rebuild, the fitting of the coveted overdrive gearbox, bare metal re-spray as well as new external trim. At an estimated £34,000 to £38,000 this is an ideal opportunity to acquire a superb and possibly a best of breed contender.

The third Triumph is the classic wedge that can only be the TR7. This 1981 car is such a rarity and quite possibly a one-off as it is a one-owner car with 24,000 miles from new. Estimated at £9,000 to £11,000 with a complete and comprehensive history file, original owners document wallet and the jack still in the factory bag, what a superb car this is and one of the best examples.

Also featured in the sale are three further great examples of British classics. A 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII which was originally sold to North America and returned to the UK in 1991. This Healey underwent restoration a few years ago to a superb standard and is finished in black with a red leather interior. The car is currently de-bumpered but the originals are supplied with the car. Estimated at £40,000 to £50,000 with a detailed history and a Heritage Trust Certificate, this is a well-restored and great looking classic.

The next of our British classics is a 1970 Rover P5B 3.5 Coupe in Rover White with a black roof and sumptuous black hide interior. Five years ago, the car was fully restored and documented using original new and old stock genuine Rover parts. The interior was brought back to life and all the chrome was renewed. Estimated at £20,000 to £25,000 this is a lovely car and quite possibly one of the best available on today’s market.

This 1976 Jaguar XJC 4.2 is very rare as it this manual version and we believe less than 200 of these cars were made. An exceptionally elegant looking car with a fantastic service history, this car formed part of a museum collection for the last ten years and is mostly in its original condition. Estimated at £25,000 to £30,000 with a Heritage Certificate and freshly recommissioned, including a new MOT, what a superb car this would be to own.
