2008 Ferrari 599 GTB Manual

The sale of Ferraris being held at the Dallas Burston Polo Club just got even more mouth-watering with over £1 million worth of super rare variations of the Ferrari 599 to be sold by Silverstone Auctions.

The range-topping and most powerful of the four cars is the 2011 599 GTO of which 60 or so of these cars were built in right-hand drive and was the road-going version of the track day 599XX. To make it even more special, it is presented in the rare colour of Avus Bianco with Tour de France Blue stripes, which was a special order request and possibly making this car unique. Supplied new by Ferrari Singapore where the car was regularly serviced and lived until 2017 before coming to the UK, the car has covered 10,920km. This 599 comes with the official Ferrari service book with all the stamps clearly visible and with all UK taxes paid the car now conforms to the same specification as a UK example. An amazing opportunity to acquire a super rare 599 estimated at £400,000 to £460,000.

Our second Ferrari 599 is the 2008 GTB. What makes this one so special is that it is one of just ten examples supplied to Europe made with the manual gearbox, as opposed to the F1-style paddle shift systems. In total, just 30 cars were made worldwide in this specification making these cars virtually unobtainable. Estimated at £365,000 to £400,00 this left-hand-drive 599 looks stunning in Fiorano Rosso with Cuoio interior. Now UK registered, this Swiss supplied car was bought by our vendor, the second owner, in 2018 and has formed part of his significant Ferrari collection. With just 19,000km on the clock, this 599 has been regularly looked after and cared for, coming with its original full luggage set, build brochure and history file. Now in the care of Silverstone Auctions and available for private inspection, this is an extremely rare car and very collectable.

The third Ferrari 599 is just as special as the others, it is a special edition GTB built to celebrate 60 years of F1 wins and named after the multiple F1 champion Fernando Alonso. This 2012 Ferrari 599 GTB 60 F1 Alonso Final Edition is being offered at £220,000 to £260,000 and is one of 40 cars built and based on the HGTE model. Finished in Rosso F1 Storico with white highlights and a bespoke Alonso interior, this very special 599 was registered as a demonstrator by Gaudual Sport S.A.S Ferrari France in 2012 and purchased by its first owner in 2013. Imported to the UK in 2017 and used sparingly forming part of the vendor’s collection, this car has been serviced by Maranello Egham and Dick Lovett Ferrari in Swindon. As 2012 marked the end of the production for the 599 this immaculate 8,000-mile example is extremely tempting as they do not appear very often.

Our final 599 is a 2007 GTB Fiorano finished in Nero Metallic with a Rosso leather interior. A great value car at £90,000 to £105,000, this 599 has a very impressive specification and is in superb condition. The UK specified right-hand drive car with just 26,000-miles on the clock, this 599 has been serviced by Graypaul no less than ten times. A great opportunity to acquire an entry-level 599 in superb condition.

The most successful car in the history of F1 is the Ferrari 312T which was raced by some of the greatest drivers and the automobilia sale has a number of 312T related items.

One of the lots, a striking original Acrylic on canvas depicting the late great Niki Lauda in his Ferrari 312T at Casino Square by Arthur Benjamins. The vendor purchased it directly from the artist 42 years ago and had it signed by Niki Lauda in 2013. Coming with a certificate of authenticity it is estimated at £5,000 to £7,000. These works of art are highly sought after, so this presents a rare opportunity to acquire one.

There are also two 1/12 scale models, a Ferrari 312T driven by Niki Lauda to the 1975 F1 World Championship and another the 312 T4 driven by Gilles Villeneuve. Both are one off-pieces and finished to the highest standards and estimated at £500 to £1,000 each.

Jody Scheckter, who famously drove for Ferrari, is depicted in this stunning photographic print by Michael Hewett on the run down to Mirabeau in the 312 T5 and signed by him with a certificate of authenticity.

The Sale of Ferrari and Porsche takes place at the Dallas Burston Polo Club on Saturday 21st September. The auction starts with automobilia at 10.30, followed by the Ferrari sale at 12.30 and Porsche at 2.30. The lots can be previewed on Friday the 20thSeptember from 1pm to 5pm.

A FABULOUS SELECTION OF COMPETITION CARS ELIGIBLE FOR HIGH QUALITY AND PRESTIGIOUS EVENTS ARE COMING TO AUCTION

A fabulous selection of race cars are heading to auction next week at the prestigious Silverstone Classic where cars eligible for Goodwood, Masters Series, Historic Touring Cars, Spa Historic and other classic racing series will be offered.

One of the star lots will be the iconic Kaliber liveried Ford Sierra Group A touring car. Estimated at £150,000 to £180,000 this is one of two the legendary cars built by Andy Rouse for the 1988 British Touring Car Championship and predominately used by the well-known motorsport marketing guru and ex-Formula One driver Guy Edwards. Whilst one of the cars headed off to Peter Brock after the season finished this car went Adrian Fu and was competed at Macau and the Asian Pacific Series. In 1992 it then competed at Bathurst in the James Hardie race before it was displayed in the museum. In 1993 the current vendor purchased the car and continued to race it in New Zealand after a visit to Peter Brock for some re-engineering. The car continued to win races and was eventually retired at the end of 1997 where it remained in his ownership and in late 2016 early 2017 it was decided to restore the car to its original livery. This is now one totally and the utterly amazing touring car not only prepared by Andy Rouse but also by Pete Brock, two of the biggest names in touring cars. What’s more, it also comes with a basic spares package and an option of a complete inventory to support a race effort lasting many seasons.

Lionel Abbott of Silverstone Auction commented: “This is a very special car, well known to many in an era when these RS500s were all-conquering. Our vendor has owned this car for many years and it is now presented in a wonderful condition for the next owner to either go racing or to include in their collection.”

If you are thinking of going racing in the World Sportscar Masters, this next car would be a great way to get involved and be competitive straight away. This 1972 Lola T 290estimated at £110,000 to £125,000 once took part in the 1974 Targa Florio and more recently competed at the 2011 Silverstone Classic in the hands of the respected engine builder David Gathercole. Purchased in 1988 by a Swede and taken back to Italy until 1995 it was then purchased by Mr Jim Jaqua who exported it to America and had it prepared by a well-known US preparer. It was later bought through Simon Hadfield, well known historic racer by the current vendor in 2007 and now with full FIA HTP papers is looking for a new home and to go racing again.

With a number of Ferraris in the sale, this 430 GT3 which in 2008 and 2009 was raced by Hector Lester and the late Allan Simonsen is a very special car. In their hands, it achieved one win, three pole positions and four fastest laps. Now restored by Prosport in 2015 and used for track days by the current vendor, prepared by RnR, this Ferrari GT3 comes with spares and interesting provenance. Estimated at £100,000 to £120,000 this is a great opportunity for someone to either continue using it on track days or to go racing once again.

For something a little less raucous yet still bundles of fun, this 1973 Triumph Dolomite Sprint is very suitable for events like Goodwood and Historic Touring Car Cup meetings. Believed to have last been raced in 1981 and still wearing its distinctive Mach 3 livery but under the bonnet, there are signs of its original Butch Racing Team livery from the 1974 and 1975 Spa 24 hours race. This car has a great history, has been professionally stored in dehumidified storage for the last two years and is now ready to be rebuilt to Group 1 specification in order to gain FIA papers to go racing again. Estimated at £20,000 to £25,000 this is a wonderful Dolomite with a BMIHT certificate and a spare set of wheels and tyres.

And for historic racers wishing to go to Goodwood or to compete in the Masters Series, Historic Touring cars or similar this rare 1965 Studebaker Lark Daytona 500 estimated at £65,000 to £80,000 and excitingly offered at No Reserve is a fantastic opportunity. This a highly developed, expertly prepared and extremely competitive car. It comes with a host of spares including wheels, tyres, differentials, body panels and further assorted parts. There is also highly likely to be an invitation from Goodwood when their period for racing is 1960s saloons.

With so many cars and competition cars in the forthcoming sale, one cannot forget that another of the star cars is the Lotus Cortina prepared by Alan Mann Racing for Sir John Whitmore. It dominated the 1965 season, winning eight out of the nine rounds. With links to being a Works car and also being shared with Jack Sears and Sir John Whitmore for an assault on the Nurburgring 6 hour race, which they won overall and set a new lap record, being used by Ford for a promotional tour, this is one of the most historic and important race cars to come on the market.

Sir John owned the car from 1967 until 1995, residing in the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu from 1972 to 1978 and then with Jack Sears on his farm in Norfolk. It was then purchased by an American enthusiast who continued to preserve the history and in 2013 the Ford Lotus Cortina returned to the UK to be sold at auction having just covered 1,000 miles whilst in the care of the previous owner. The current vendor, who is a family friend of the Manns, is now offering the car for sale at £190,000 to £220,000 with just 11,464 miles, albeit mainly race miles.

2018 Ferrari California T '70th Anniversary

Silverstone Auctions sale is really hotting up with an amazing selection of rare and high-performance Ferraris being offered along with related automobilia including the stunning “Il Fascino Ferrari” Art Edition from Taschen Books.

Taking place at the historic Silverstone Classic, this flagship sale is offering Ferraris to suit all enthusiasts of the marque. The cars being offered are all highly sought after.

The 2018 Ferrari California T “70th Anniversary” Edition is a remarkable tailor-made car made to celebrate a moment in Ferrari history. 70 different liveries were created making this car 1 of 1 and was inspired by the 1987 Ferrari F40 which was driven to an Italian GT championship victory in 1993 which went onto become the most successful F40 in history.

Being the only car finished in these colours, Livery number 54, makes this very desirable. Estimated at £255,000 to £285,000 with 78 delivery miles and in right-hand drive, this is a true limited edition, and one very special car.

Also on offer are two more Ferraris, separated by 10 years. The 1979 308 GT4 is a right-hand drive car which has the honour of having the Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming the authenticity of the car. Owned by the current vendor since 1985 this car has been looked after the whole time by Graypaul Ferrari, one of the few Officiana authorised dealers. Estimated at £40,000 to £50,000 this is easily one of the best 308 GT4s currently available. With 62,000 miles, maintained to the highest standards and owned by the current vendor for 34 years, this is undoubtedly a Best of Breed.

Ten years on we have a concours winning 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS. Estimated at £75,000 to £85,000 this is a well- regarded car in Ferrari circles and has just 31,584 miles and an extensive history file. It has been in the current ownership since 2011 and after meticulous maintenance, went on to win the 2016 Ferrari Owners Club Concours. The sale includes the trophies and certificates.

Operated by Ferrari since 1993 the Challenge series saw Ferrari produce a number of racing cars for customer motorsport. Silverstone Auctions has three versions of the Challenge cars for sale at their forthcoming auction, a 360, 430 and this 458 which are all very rare and pretty amazing cars.

This particular car was prepared by the factory to full European Challenge specification from new and then run and prepared by FF Corse, Ferrari specialists achieving a number of race wins. This car has been upgraded by FF Corse with their GTC aero pack and has been fitted with a V-BOX Lite video recording system. With the seat belts in date until January 2020 and supplied with two sets of wheels and tyres, this is a race winning car for an estimate of £100,000 to £120,000, alternatively it would make an incredible track day car.

Among the other Ferrari related automobilia is the wonderfully complete 330 GTC tool kit estimated at £10,000 to £12,000 and in superb condition. Alternatively you may need some luggage for the summer holidays to compliment your Ferrari, a six piece set of Schedoni luggage in very good condition and complete with tags and dust covers for £5,500 to £6,500.

Maybe you have a small spot at home where you could give this rare, 1 of only 500, 1:12 scale model of Phil Hill’s Ferrari 156 Dino signed and in its presentation box, complete with an additional 1:43 scale 156 and a certificate of authenticity.
