and unique classics on offer at Silverstone sale RARE and UNIQUE CLASSICS on OFFER at SILVERSTONE SALE Over 60 classic cars and three historic motorcycles will be ofred in Silverstone Auctions' Autumn Sale at Silverstone race circuit this Saturday. The sale, taking place on September 20th, features a fantastic array of exotic and unique classic cars. Topping the bill is a stunning, low mileage 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalve, estimated at between £80,000 and £90,000. The highly collectible car has covered just over 10,000 miles from new and is in superb condition. Other Italian cars include a 2011 Fiat 500 Stirling Moss 722 Tribute, estimated at between £9,000 and £12,000. The car is totally unique having been created by a friend of the legendary racing driver who has signed the dash and headrests, and sports his famous 722 number on the doors, bonnet and boot lid. One of only two RHD models believed to be left in existence, a 1960 Steyr Puch 500 is estimated at between £15,000 and £18,000. After years in storage this wonderful little car has been brought back to the road, with fresh interior trim, new tyres and very few other minor mechanical touches and is now offered for auction. Speaking prior to the sale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, Nick Whale, said: "Our final sale at The Wing this year is set to be a great one. As always the team have brought together a stunning collection of fascinating and unique cars and so I would encourage potential bidders to register to avoid missing out on these classics." The very first production spec Lynx Eventer V12 HE will also be going under the hammer, estimated at between £25,000 and £30,000, as well as a rare and highly sought after 1989 BMW E30 M3 Johnny Cecotto, estimated at between £35,000 and £40,000. As well as classic cars and motorcycles a selection of automobilia will be offered including and a collection of luxury lifestyle items including watches and leather goods. The auction house is also now inviting quality consignments into its final sale of the NEC Classic Motor Show on the 15th and 16th of November. 1967 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350     This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT350 is finished in Acapulco Blue with white Le Mans stripes and was built on 5th May 1967. The car was imported to the UK in 1998 and was purchased by the current owner in 2004.   A substantial two-year restoration was then carried out by the vendor. Along with extensive body work the engine was replaced with a rebuilt and period correct Ford 289 hi-po engine, mated to a newly refurbished 4-speed top loader gearbox while the interior is largely original.   Original GT350s rarely come onto the open market and this car represents an exciting opportunity for any lover of the iconic Mustang.   Estimate (£): 50,000 - 60,000   Read more

1960 Steyr Puch 500     One of only 33 right-hand drive models produced, this example is believed to be one of only two cars to remain, with the other surviving car residing in the Steyr Puch museum in Austria.   'AEM 655' was first registered in the UK on October 21st 1960 to Ryders of Liverpool as the original UK demonstration car. Incredibly, the original delivery note from the factory to Ryders in 1960 is included with this lot. Purchased by the current vendor in 2013, the previous owner from the Republic of Ireland had kept it in storage for of 28 years. After years in storage this wonderful little car has been brought back to the road, with fresh interior trim, new tyres and very few other minor mechanical touches and is now offered for auction.   This stunningly unique 500 is an intricate piece of the Steyr/Fiat family and is a fantastic opportunity for both Steyr and Fiat collectors to acquire a special model.   Estimate (£): 15,000 - 18,000   Read more

1962 Daimler Dart SP250 'B-Spec'     The Daimler Dart was launched in 1959. This example is an original manual UK car first registered 17th May 1962 and shows just four former keepers.   The beautiful car was subject to a complete restoration in the 1990s, with a full respray, fitment of new chrome wire wheels and a stainless steel exhaust carried out two years ago to ensure that it looks and runs as it should.   It has been well maintained and is presented with a superb history file. 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 Litre Fixedhead Coupe

 

 

An original Heritage Certificate shows this left-hand drive Series I 4.2 Fixedhead Coupe was manufactured on 5th April 1966 and originally registered in Coventry but spent the majority of its life in the USA.

 

The car was restored in 2012 and returned to the UK in 2013 and re-registered as HOV 115D. This matching numbers car is now finished in white with red interior, having had a complete body re-spray and new red leather interior fitted. The bodywork is presented in lovely order, with good shut lines and a consistent paint throughout. The interior looks superb and the engine bay is very clean and presentable. Mechanically the engine boasts good oil pressure and pulls well.

 

The Series I 4.2 Fixedhead Coupe is seen by many as the most desirable E-Type to own and use, with the reliable 4.2 powerplant and purest of body lines. This example is an ideal first classic for the discerning enthusiast.
