VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE AS 151 LOTS GO TO AUCTION THIS WEEKEND
This weekend, Classic Car Auctions will be holding their auction at the Warwickshire Event Centre, the first of four sales being held at the venue this year, with 151 outstanding lots on offer.
Among the lots going under the hammer on Saturday will be four lots with celebrity provenance. Rowan Atkinson himself has consigned his beloved Mercedes 500E, a car he has own twice and now offered at No Reserve! Whilst a 1969 Alfa Romeo owned and restored by John Squires of the Stone Roses is also being offered at £26,000 to £30,000. Harry Metcalfe, famed for his Harry’s Garage series and his expert knowledge of the car industry, has submitted two cars, a rare Lancia Kappa at No Reserve and his glorious 1993 Mercedes-Benz 6.0-Litre V12 that can balance a 50 pence piece on the engine whilst running to prove the smoothness of the engine, this is £8,000 to £10,000.
With lots of sporty cars on offer the 1993 Lotus Carlton, one of only 284 right-hand-drive cars, is rare and one of incredible four door performance. Sourced very carefully by the vendor is now offered at £40,000 to £50,000. The BMW M3 is held in high regard and lot 363 a 1990 E30 model is being offered in largely original condition at £34,000 to £38,000. With two-seaters a plenty, the 1964 Mercedes-Benz, Lot 381, is a superb classic with traditional Mercedes looks in light red and a black Pagoda hardtop it is being offered at £38,000 to £44,000. Alternatively, lot 358, the 1999 BMW Z3M Roadster is a rare opportunity to acquire a car with just 6,000 miles from new and one owner for £28,000 to £32,000.
From the Porsche stable, the classic 1971 911T offered at £50,000 to £60,000 and presented in Sepia Brown looks terrific and with the classic Porsche look. Lot 369 and only eight years older the 911 SC Sport Targa is very impressive. Finished in Guards Red and with a huge history file, the car has had the wheels and interior refreshed and the body has been professionally stripped and repainted. With a fresh MOT for the sale it is offered at £50,000 to £60,000.
A rare limited-edition Range Rover, one of only 200 made to celebrate the 20thanniversary of the marque is also going under the hammer. Owned by the vendor for the last 16 years and largely original, this car, number 38, is supplied with its original presentation pack and signed letter from Charles Spencer King. Having undergone an extensive restoration over the last three years it is no ready for the new owner to enjoy. Estimated at £35,000 to £40,000 the appropriate number plate, H19 CSK is included in the sale.
