RM SOTHEBY’S SETS NEW WORLD RECORD FOR A 21ST CENTURY AUTOMOBILE
AS UNIQUE LaFERRARI APERTA RAISES €8.3M FOR CHARITY

Maranello, Italy (9 September 2017) - Tonight in Maranello, Italy, at the historic Pista di Fiorano during the Ferrari's 70thanniversary celebrations, a 2017 LaFerrari Aperta, the Italian marque’s ultimate hypercar, set a record for a 21st Century car when it sold for €8.3 million at the RM Sotheby’s Leggenda E Passione sale. The price, double the high estimate, was realised after as many as 12 collectors vied for the car.

The yet-to-be-built, 210th LaFerrari Aperta, will be finished in a one-of-a-kind stunning metallic Russo Fuoco with a Bianco Italia double racing stripe on the bonnet and rear deck. The interior will be trimmed in black Alcantara with red leather inserts on the seats, red stitching, and glossy black carbon fiber trim. With Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Chairman and CEO of Ferrari, on the block to help with the sale, the entire €8,300,000 that the car realized will be generously donated to Save the Children for an international program focusing on education.

Full results of Leggenda E Passione sale will soon be available at www.rmsothebys.com
