MODERN CLASSICS TO GET PULSES RACING AT CCA’S SEASON FINALE

1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa 'Sport'

A host of desirable modern classics are among the first cars to be consigned to Classic Car Auctions year-end bonanza December Sale at the Warwickshire Event Centre on 1stDecember.
Leading the modern classics at the sale is a superbly presented 1990 BMW E30 M3, finished in Alpine White, with a lovely Tan leather interior. Estimated at £35,000 to £40,000, the M3 was subject to a £5,000 professional repaint in 2016, with the brake system overhauled and a full service taking place in the same year.
Another legendary German on its way to the December Sale is a 1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa. Estimated at £30,000 to £35,000, the rare UK supplied model received an extensive restoration at a cost in excess of £30,000 and is finished with a black leather interior.
“There’s a real thirst for modern classics from the 80s and 90s at the moment so it’s fantastic to see so many great examples already consigned to our year-end December Sale,” says Gary Dunne, sales manager at Classic Car Auctions. “The sale is already shaping up to be one of our best of the year and spaces are filling up fast so if anyone is looking to enter their everyman classic into the sale, they should get in touch as soon as possible.”
Described as the ultimate pocket rocket, a 1989 Renault 5 GT Turbo on offer is in wonderful condition having covered less than 27,000 miles. Finished in red with a grey cloth interior, the car was recently imported to the UK from Japan and is estimated at £15,000 to £18,000.
Joining the Renault is another hot hatch icon, a 1990 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 2. The fast Fords received a number of upgrades including a water-cooled Garret T3 turbo along with revised engine management, limited slip differential, an improved gearbox and larger clutch over the original RS Turbo. Estimated at £12,000 to £15,000, it is a very original example finished in Solid White with a Grey Cloth Recaro interior and has only 73,000 miles.
Another fast Ford icon on offer is a rare 1986 Ford Tickford Capri, estimated at £18,000 to £22,000. Smartly finished in Gloss Black with a Grey half-leather Recaro interior, the car has covered just 56,900 miles. One of only 80 cars built the Tickford was fitted with a front mounted turbocharger, rear disc brakes, Bilstein dampers, and a limited slip differential, this car is also fitted with a stainless steel exhaust, a £800 option at the time.
