The 1996 BMW E31 850CSI on offer is the pinnacle of the 8 series range, featuring a 5.6 litre V12 producing 375BHP and 406lbs/ft. The highly sought after car is one of only 160 right-hand drive UK cars and this top of the range model is certainly eye-catching amongst the four other 8 series’ in the sale. Showing just 70,000 miles and owned by the seller for the past 17 years, the 850 has been estimated at £40,000 to £50,000. Recently brought up to a truly exceptional standard this extremely rare car’s BMW lifetime warranty is still valid.
“BMW has always been a signifier of reliable, ingenious, quality German engineering,” says Richard Greenhalgh, classic car specialist at CCA. “The performance and refinement in cars from BMW is truly unmatched by any other automaker. BMW are some of the most sought-after cars currently and values are matching that desire. When we offer a BMW for auction we can be sure they are a cut above the rest. The particular cars on offer at the September Sale are truly some of the best to come out of the Bavarian Motor Works.”
Also in the sale are a highly specced 2000 E46 M3 AC Schnitzer estimated at £9,000 to £12,000, a lovely 1982 E21 320 Baur Cabriolet with only 39,500 miles estimated at £8,000 to £10,000, along with an amazing 2002 Alpina B3S 3.4 estimated at £5,000 to £7,000 and an incredible 2007 E61 M5 Touring complete with its trademark 507BHP 5.0 litre V10 engine estimated at £18,000 to £22,000.
The 1983 BMW E28 Alpina B9 3.5 being offered was originally supplied to Germany but has spent most of its life in Japan after being exported there in 1985. Returning to the UK in 2017 with 82,000 miles, the Alpina underwent some light re-commissioning before being UK-registered. Finished in dark blue with its original brown velour interior, the car comes with the classic Alpina stripes and Momo leather steering wheel. Estimated at £25,000 to £30,000 this epic Alpina is sure to attract some serious bidding.
The sale also features a 1999 BMW E36 M3 GT Evolution Individual, number 37 of the 50 UK cars built. The limited edition model was used as a send-off for the E36 M3 before it was replaced in 2000 by the E46. Finished in the M3 GTS trademark Imola Red with a bespoke Nappa leather interior in Amaretto and Anthracite the M3 is estimated at £18,000 to £22,000. Indicating just 74,830 miles it has recently received a full glass out respray with a new bonnet, windscreen, headlight glass and window trims fitted at a cost of £6,000.
Meanwhile a quirky but much admired 1999 BMW Z3M Coupe is also in very impressive condition. The Z3M has extremely good paintwork in a lovely shade of silver with a beautifully presented interior in Imola Red and Black. Estimated at £24,000 to £28,000, the Coupe has covered just 81,800 miles. The 3.2 litre straight six engine (the same engine fitted to the previously mentioned M3) has been fully rebuilt at a cost of £6,000. This lovely little hatchback is one of the best on the market currently and is sure to excel when it comes to auction.
