Shannons and the superstars of MotoGP are joining forces to help a five-year old Sydney girl with a very rare and, to date incurable, a form of malignant cancer.
In January this year, Freyja's single mother of three children received the news that her five-year old daughter Freyja had a rare, aggressive and incurable illness.
Patients with the disease typically do not live beyond 12 months following diagnosis, setting the clock ticking to find a treatment or cure.
The MotoGP community heard of Freyja’s plight and has donated 102 rare and personal items to a campaign to send Freyja to Germany, which is the focus of a worldwide trial to find a cure for the disease.
Items for auction include signed leathers, helmets, boots, gloves, knee-sliders and caps – most from the 2017 season.
Meanwhile, signed paintings of Rossi, Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo will open their bidding at $250.
Shannons, as Australia’s leading enthusiasts’ auction house, was asked to help and has set up a dedicated website for the one-off, worldwide event, donating its resources and time for the Timed Online Auction that will be held from August 2-16. All funds raised will go to the ‘A Cure for Freyja’.
