RM Sotheby’s is proud to announce the launch of the Ferrari – Leggenda e Passione digital catalogue, showcasing 41 of the most pristine Ferraris from its 70-year history, along with a selection of memorabilia. Hosted at the Ferrari Factory in Maranello, this exclusive 9 September event will gather the whos-who of the Ferrari collector-car pursuit to auction some of the rarest and most-desirable road and race cars ever built.
Offered for the first time in history are two vehicles sure to stir the emotions of tifosi. While Ferrari built over 1,200 copies of the 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’, this 1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta Alloy is by far the rarest. Ferrari built a total of five lightweight Alloy competition Daytonas, but this is the only street version ever commissioned, and it will be offered in remarkable, unrestored condition for the first time.
Also offered as a charity lot is a not yet built, brand-new 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, which has been designed with a unique livery to be unveiled during Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary celebrations at Maranello. Just 209 examples were slated for production, but the winner of this lot will receive the 210th LaFerrari Aperta to be built by the factory, making this a truly exceptional offering.
