Record results for Silverstone Auctions’ biggest ever sale
Last week we held three days of auctions at the world famous Silvertone Classic. A fantastic catalogue of race cars and classic cars were offeredachieving total sales of £4.9million with 72% of classic cars sold.
Stars of the sale included a low mileage 1989 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI which sold for a new world record auction price, as well as an 1958 AC Ace Bristol which sold for more than £80,000 over estimate. A 1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GTR in incredible original condition achieved the highest price of the sale.

This stunning and beautifully original AC Ace Bristol wowed hundreds of classic car and motorsport enthusiasts, far exceeding its sale estimate in Saturday’s sale.

One of the most original Porsches we have ever seen, and one of just 17 made, this Porsche 924 Carrera GTR was the highest selling car of the sale.

This matching numbers and fully restored Jaguar E-Type Series I was hammered away for more than £48,000 over its lower estimate.

One of the very earliest E-Types, chassis number 62, which was recently discovered in Scotland, was also fought over by bidders.
