Le Mans-winning 1955 Jaguar D-Type; XKD 501
The Jaguar D-type is the embodiment of what the marque stands for. Built for speed but with no compromise to beauty, the program managed to take victory at Le Mans no less than three years in a row. One of those very Le Mans-winning cars, the 1956 No. 4 car, will be offered in Monterey come August. Thanks to the skilled driving of Ninian Sanderson and Ron Flockhart, as well as the incredible engineering put into this car, D-type “XKD 501” finished a lap ahead of the Sterling Moss and Peter Collins Aston Martin. XKD 501 is the best example of one of the most iconic Jaguars ever made and will surely be a highlight of Monterey Car Week.

1962 Ferrari 268 SP by Fantuzzi; Chassis no. 0798
The 1962 Ferrari 268 SP also featured an illustrious race career, including a run at Le Mans as a factory entry in 1962. As one of just five SP cars in existence, the 268 is as desirable as Ferraris come. This allure drew some of the greatest collectors to the car over the decades and included a long stay in the stable of Pierre Bardinon, the world’s foremost Ferrari collector, throughout his life. In recent years, the 268 SP has been meticulously restored and maintained, making appearances at select events, including the 2001 Cavallino Classic, where it won the coveted Platinum Award.
