Help support Bloodwise
Those of you who follow us on social media will already know that this year CCA is supporting Bloodwise, the UK's specialist blood cancer charity.
Back in May we appealed to generous classic car enthusiasts to donate cars to be sold at our December auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity to fund world-class research, as well as patient support, and raising awareness of blood cancers.
And a classic car hero has come along by the name of Andy Powell, who has donated a VW Beetle convertible. Bloodwise is a charity close to Andy’s heart as his son, William, who will be seven in August, was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2011 at the age of 21 months. In July 2014 William reached the end of his chemotherapy, and in July 2016 celebrated being two years post-treatment.
The car will be wrapped in a plain livery and will appear at theSilverstone Classic as well as the Big Welsh Car Show, of which CCA is a sponsor.
Members of the public will be invited to sign the car with messages of support for the charity’s patients and families in exchange for a donation to Bloodwise.
Having raised £3,500 so far, Andy hopes to raise around£5,000 for Bloodwise by selling it at our December Sale.
We're still appealing to generous classic car owners to donate a car, and it doesn't have to be anything too fancy or in concours condition.
Anyone who wishes to support the charity and CCA’s work can contact Rachael Davies at Bloodwise on 029 2167 6225, or Arwel Richards from Classic Car Auctions on 07434 960868. |
