BRITISH CLASSIC CAR AUCTION HOUSE LAUNCHES NEW EUROPEAN NETWORK OF REPRESENTATIVES
Martin van der Zeeuw                                                                                                                                       Johan Lundberg
H&H Classics announced this week that it has appointed two well-known classic car enthusiasts, Johan Lundberg and Martin van der Zeeuw as its first European representatives, part of the company’s plans for expansion on the continent.
Martin van der Zeeuw officially joins the H&H Classics European network of representatives this week. He has already sourced several cars in Holland for sale with H&H Classics, including a 1949 Cadillac Fleetwood with close links to all the major life events of President John F. Kennedy.
Martin’s passion for classic cars goes back to his youth and in the 1970s he worked at the Louwman Museum over weekends as a guide.
Although he has a Master’s degree in Political Science he followed his heart and pursued a career in the automotive world. He has worked for a leading Dutch motoring publication, Carros Magazine, as an editor and sub-editor for 21 years and has also written for Octane UK, Mercedes Magazine, Audi and Touring Superleggera. His features concentrate on high-end and unique classic cars and on classic car auctions. Since 2007 he has worked as a freelance writer. Martin is the author of the outstanding catalogue for the award-winning Louwman Museum in The Hague.
Some of Martin’s career highlights include driving and writing about unique cars like the 1957 Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-Type, the ex-John Lennon Ferrari 330 GT, the ex-Paul McCartney Aston Martin DB6, the 1969 Mercedes-Benz C111 prototype, the 1904 Darracq ‘Genevieve’ and the ex-Roland Garros 1913 Bugatti T18. His story and driving impression of the unique 1952 Pegaso Z-102 Berlineta Enasa Cúpula from the Louwman Museum will appear in the August issue of Octane UK. His favourite among all the cars he has ever driven is a 1935 Duesenberg SJ LaGrande.
Currently Martin is the proud owner of a 1968 Jaguar 420G and he admits that he has a penchant for large, luxurious cars with powerful engines. His knowledge of classic cars is prodigious and as a result he has served as a jury member for Techno Classica Essen, concours Paleis ’t Loo and several other distinguished classic car events.
His other interests include modernist architecture and Bauhaus design, modern art, and music, especially rock and fusion jazz. He plays guitar and bass guitar. Martin lives in Haarlem, The Netherlands and speaks a number of languages besides his native Dutch including English, German and basic French.
The second appointment is Johan Lundberg who is based in Budapest, Hungary, graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden with an MSc in Applied Mechanics and Vehicle Engineering. He has extensive experience within the automotive industry, gained during 14 years with Audi in Germany, assuming increasingly complex senior management positions in the fields of technology and supply chain management in a multicultural environment.
He then moved to Hungary to build and lead a business division at ABB, one of the world’s leading power and automation companies, driving sales, market positioning and profitability of its automation products in Hungary. Johan was Vice President and part of the Country Management Team and assumed additional responsibility for Marketing, Communications & PR for ABB’s Hungarian unit.
In order to pursue his life-long passion for classic cars, Johan set up  Petrolhead Classics in 2014. Based in Budapest, Hungary, the company provides expertise in many aspects of classic car ownership: sourcing, buying, selling, restoring and upgrading. They focus on European sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s, mainly Mercedes and Porsche.
In addition to his professional experience, Johan brings with him linguistic know-how (native Swedish speaker, fluent in English, German, Hungarian, Spanish and basic Russian) and an international network within the classic car world, including manufacturers, collectors and other players.
When not immersed in the classic car hobby, Johan enjoys travelling, music, gastronomy and sports (running).
Dominic Lyncker, MD of H&H Classics says: ”We are delighted to have Martin van der Zeeuw and Johan Lundberg join the H&H Classics team on the continent. Their comprehensive knowledge of classic cars, network of contacts and distinguished careers covering the automotive sector make them an invaluable addition to our operation which plans for dramatic growth.”
