CLASSIC CAR AUCTIONS NEWS

Aston Martin "barn find” discovered for the March Sale

The March Sale is now only 6 weeks away and we’ve entered some more exciting new cars into the auction.

There's a 1990 Aston Martin Virage "barn find”, ideal for a restoration project, a 1960 Ford Thunderbird that starred in the TV show Lovejoy, and a well maintained, low mileage 1988 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible.

We’re still inviting entries into the sale, so if you’re looking to sell your car at auction just follow the simple instructions below.

View the lots list so far here or read on for more details of the cars already consigned.
1990 Aston Martin Virage

This Aston Martin "barn find" has been with the current owner for five years, having been bought as a project.

The car has been dry stored for a period and will require a degree of re-commissioning. Fitted with the rare manual gearbox, the Aston was in running order when it went into hibernation.

With its fairly comprehensive history file, this 34,000 mile Virage will make a very smart car when finished.

Estimate (£): 20,00- 25,000

1960 Ford Thunderbird

Ordered from Pearson Ford Co. San Diego, California, in November 1960, this Thunderbird then arrived on British shores in 1990.

It has featured in classic car magazines, the book ‘Ford T-Bird', and been seen at various shows, including the finals of the Classic American Car of the Year in 1993. It even went on to appear in the TV show Lovejoy in 1994.

This car has an extensive history file including the original dealer order to the factory and the original bill of sale. The odometer at the time of consignment shows a mere 59,000 miles.

Estimate (£): 20,000 - 25,000

1990 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible

This stunning XJS was supplied new on the 1st October 1990 by Stratstones and has a total mileage of 69,765 miles.

The Solent Blue metallic paintwork is generally good and the interior is inviting with the blue piped cream leather in good condition throughout, complimented beautifully by walnut veneer that has retained its colour well.

Today, this model is very much establishing itself as a most worthy latter-day classic, good examples being eagerly sought by enthusiasts of the marque.

This XJS will come to auction with a new MoT and has recently been serviced.

Estimate (£): 14,000 - 16,000
