We look forward to hearing from you, but for now, read on for some
of the best prices that were paid at this year’s Race Retro sale.

The ex Dr Stephen Ward - 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe- Pre-sale estimate £55,000-£65,000: SOLD £124,200
This stunning Jaguar XK, with links to one of the most notorious
political scandals in British history, more than lived up to its
pre-sale hype. A frenzied bidding battle saw the car sell for nearly
double its upper estimate.

1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante X-Pack- Pre-sale estimate £135,000-£155,000: SOLD £167,900
Further reflecting the love and demand for the marque, this
extremely rare Aston was incredibly popular with bidders. Benefitting
from an extensive bare metal restoration by a respected Aston Martin
specialist in 2008, the car sold for more than £32,000 above its
estimate.

1976 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2- Pre-sale estimate £28,000-£32,000: SOLD £40,825

sold for more than £12,000 over its pre-sale estimate.

2000 Ford Mondeo Super Tourer- Pre-sale estimate £100,000-£120,000: SOLD £103,500
Probably the most famous car from the golden era of the BTCC, this
Mondeo Super Tourer was driven to third place overall by Rickard Rydell
in the 2000 championship. Having been maintained by a professional race
team and campaigned in historic touring car races, the car shone for the
motorsport fans at Race Retro.

1957 Porsche 356A Coupe- Pre-sale estimate £50,000-£60,000: SOLD £60,950
This remarkable example of a Porsche 356A T1, in highly original
condition with some unique production features, appealed to the Porsche
purists in the crowd. With fully restored examples now reaching into six
figures this is delightful example that could be enjoyed as it is or as
the foundation for a very worthwhile restoration.
